What’s new in TidyHQ — April 2025
We’ve been working hard to keep improving the service! This month has seen a number of bug fixes on the core TidyHQ platform, with feature work on TidyHQ Connect.
🐞 Bug Fixes
- If you try to sign up with an email that’s already in use, we’ll now gently steer you to log in instead — no more confusing error messages.
- We’ve sorted an issue where file attachments with special characters were breaking. Things should be a lot smoother now.
- In Shop, some older items didn’t have a certain link set up, which caused problems when creating a cart. That’s all patched up.
- There’s a limit to how much text you can pop into a Waiver — we now check that as you type, so you're not hit with an error later.
- Same goes for Sponsor URLs — if the link’s too long, we’ll flag it straight away so you can fix it on the spot.
🧩 Connect Updates
New Email Notifications
We’ve introduced a few helpful email updates:
- Project managers are notified when an invite is rejected.
- Admins now get emails when they’re invited to a project.
- New “Due Soon” reminders:
- For Projects which are Due, it will send a reminder on the Monday within the current week (Sunday-Monday).
- For Projects that have not been actioned, a reminder will be sent to the participant organisation admins. A reminder will be sent every 3 days until the project has been accepted or rejected.
It’s important to log in to TidyHQ and accept invitations — a popup will display your pending invites when you log in.
Request Access Feature
If an admin clicks a project link they don’t yet have access to, they’ll now see a ‘Request Access’ screen instead of an error.
Project managers can review these requests in the Sharing settings.
Note to managers: Notifications for access requests are not yet available, so we recommend checking your project’s Sharing modal regularly.
Improved Contact Syncing
Contacts with Roles now sync from the child organisation to the parent, which helps keep everybody up to date — and might just mean one less thing to do at handover!
Changes, including role changes, show up in the parent organisation’s Activity Feed.
Assign Tasks to be Managed by a Role - Connected Projects
Tasks in a Connected Project (where a parent organisation gives tasks to a child organisation) can now have a manager! As usual, this is allocated not to an individual but by role, making it easier for co-managers to share responsibility and receive relevant notifications.
- Multiple roles can manage a single task within a Project too.
- As before, if a task isn’t assigned to anyone in particular, all editors on the project will receive notifications.
This ensures the right people are notified while reducing unnecessary messages.
New Project Selection
When creating a new project, you’ll now see radio buttons instead of a dropdown menu to select the project type — Internal, Connected, or Template.
Please make sure to select the appropriate type when creating your project.
New Project Overview Display Screen
Opening a project now takes you to a read-only overview by default, instead of jumping straight into edit mode.
To make changes, simply click ‘Edit project’ via the three-dot menu next to the ‘Sharing’ button in the top right corner.
We hope these updates enhance your experience with TidyHQ. Your feedback is invaluable to us, so please feel free to share your thoughts or any issues encountered. Thank you for your continued support!
